Serenada Schizophrana’ By Danny Elfman
West Coast Premier of Symphonic Work

Danny ElfmanThe Redwood Symphony will perform the West Coast premier of film composer Danny Elfman’s first symphonic work, “Serenada Schizophrana,” for a large orchestra and female chorus. The work received its world premiere at Carnegie Hall by the American Composer’s Orchestra, Steven Sloan conducting, on February 23, 2005. This will be only the second performance of the work.

“Serenada Schizophrana” is a 40-minute, six-movement work for a large orchestra and amplified female chorus. Elfman has stated that it most shows the influence of his favourite composers, Bernard Herrmann and Prokofiev, as well as the minimalism of Phillip Glass and other jazz influences.

Elfman both scored and sang on Tim Burton’s recent back to back hits: “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and “Corpse Bride.”

Christa Campbell Presents the ‘Field of Screams’ Trailer and Finds ‘Bliss’
Hey everyone. It’s been a while since I last blogged. It’s been crazy! I’ve been running around promoting 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams. We had our premiere in Dallas a while back, the crowd went nuts! We have been getting a great response from this film. It’s very exciting. We are having our Los Angeles premiere July 15th at the Egyptian Theatre. I can’t wait! And we release on DVD and Blu-ray July 20th. It’s been a lot of fun.

Also, here’s some non-horror news — my movie Finding Bliss will hit theaters in New York on June 4th and in Los Angeles on June 11th. It’s a crazy romantic comedy with Leelee Sobieski, Jamie Kennedy, Matt Davis, Mircea Monroe (pictured above), Stormy Daniels, and many many others.

We’ve got a brand new exclusive look at Tim Sullivan’s 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams, which features writer director Tim Sullivan and stars Christa Campbell and Ogre getting down and piggy. After the sheriff refuses to cover up any further for the maniacs causing all the missing persons in the area, they’re forced to hit the road in what’s dubbed the “Pleasant Valley Traveling Road Show,” where the maniacs head across country in hopes of gathering more victims. We’ll follow a young TV crew called the “Road Rascals” as they find themselves mixed up with another one of the maniacs’ deadly festivals.

As he investigates further, Sam realizes that his destiny is to become the destroyer of this blood thirsty race. Sam begins a killing spree with the slaughter of his beloved wife, then her blood addicted lover.

Sam then makes it his duty to systematically destroy the remainder of the clan, until he hesitates about killing Lily (Campbell), the last of her race. Helplessly he falls in love with Lily and learns to respect her desire to be normal.

Eventually Sam must battle with the possibility of repopulating the planet, with the exact race he set out to destroy.”
